everywhere, and today is the day we begin bringing you the adorable new additions. let's go. first up is vivian gray. lurious. vivian was born on december 30th to amy and lex in santa fe, new mexico, and vivian became an instant little sister. the most magnificent moment is the moment you see your child's face for the first time. >> she's so cute. >> big congratulations to the lucius family. the next is obadiah otho curry. he was born to donna and william in kentucky. he was born november 29th. his name means worshipper of god, and mom donna says while breast feeding was tough for the beginning, they both stuck with it, and it's been a great bond. up next are the widder twins. duct pleasure double the fun. wells and ellis were born to deanna and mark widder on december 14th. mom and dad say they're they've never felt more blessed. and finally our next baby is

>> now on today's healthy heart it's national wear red day. heart disease is the number one killer of women impacting an estimated 43 million of us each year. >> to raise awareness and save lives the american heart association is kicking off american heart month as part of their go red for women campaign. >> cardiologist and american heart association spokeswoman dr. jennifer mrez is here with heart disease survivors gail alexandra wrooigt wright and eva gomez. >> nice to see you, dear. >> i'm looking at the two of you, and you both seem very young to have had any kind of -- >> heart issues. >> very healthy. how old were you? >> 37. >> wow. that must have been -- was there heart disease in your family? >> yes. yes. >> lots of it, right? >> were you aware of it? >> to be honest with you, i wasn't. >> was it mostly men in your family? >> it's my father and his siblings. both women and men. >> what happened with you? >> like you said, at the age of 37, i -- weeks before the heart

attack i had pain in the left side of my neck. i ignored it. of course, three weeks later had a heart attack and was rushed to the e.r. my daughter -- i call her my angel. she saved me life. she had to call 911. >> how old was she? >> 14 at the time. >> what's interesting is you don't picture women this young having to deal with heart issues, but that is often the case. >> but you know, in gail's case having such a strong family history and not knowing it, the family history is the one thing that is not modifiable, and having such a strong family history placed her for heart attacks at an early age. so at 37, we talk about her risk factors, she was under chronic stress, slept probably, what, four to five hours. chronic sleep deficit. you add that, you know, those two with a family history and clearly she was ripe for a heart attack. >> what about you, eva? are you the one that had the aneurism? >> yes. >> tell us about that. >> so young too.

>> that's the thing. i had type 2. in my 20s i had a murmur. and i knew that something was not quite right in my heart, but they said you're okay now. come back in five years. i chose to ignore the fact that i needed to go back. i waited 13 years to go back to follow-up, and the murmur was just a little noise in my heart, but over those 13 years the aneurism on top of my heart continued to grow, and i wasn't aware of it. so when i finally did go back, they did discover that the aneurism was very large. >> you are very athletic, right? >> i like to exercise a lot, yes. >> a lot of this stuff is preventable. that's the funny thing. you can fix it from the outside, but oftentimes we don't think of it. what can people at home do if they're concerned about this? >> i think people need to know that heart disease is the leading killer of women in united states. it can be prevented. knowing your risks, knowing that high blood pressure definitely diabetes, elevated blood sugar, elevated cholesterol, having a family history as gail had with

>> snow moving in to parts of the knee. i'm meteorologist chris warren with your weather channel forecast. looking across the country where there will be chance for some snow. dealing with snow once again around the great lakes. watch out for those heavy lake effects snow bands setting up. you can go from decent driving conditions to absolutely nasty. very low visibility and slippery roads than happen in a hurry. that chance for snow eventually moving into the northeast. cold air is in place. highs today will be into the upper 20s and lower 30s throughout the northeast. teens and 20s for minneapolis to chicago. chance for some snow in the northeast possibly from new york to boston could end up with 1 to 3 inches. that can change. keep it tuned in to the weather channel during the day on saturday and throughout sunday. for the latest on that threat for snow in the northeast.

still going to be cold, though. it's still going to feel like winter, whether or not you look out the window and it looks like winter that's another story. but at least one thing's for sure. temperatures are going to be very cold. as warm as it's going to get in boston and new york on sunday will be 34 degrees. that's it. then we're going to see another little system move through on monday enhancing that chance for snow around the great lakes, maybe bringing some rain throughout parts of the mid south, into parts of the south there, northern louisiana, much of arkansas having good chance for some showers. another chance for some snow around the great lakes. temperatures right around the freezing mark for the northeast. and then on wednesday, high pressure building in. you get to bring at least a temporary end to that lake effects snow throughout the great lakes and dealing with some milder temperatures in the southern plains until this next system moves in on thursday. snow to the north with some mild air to the south. you're going to see just rainshowers, upper 60s in dallas. remember, weekdays on the weather channel you can wake up with al and stephanie.
